What is Green laser marking and how does it work?

Green laser marking refers to the use of a laser with a specific wavelength to create permanent marks on surfaces. The Telesis EV4GDS is a green laser system that is diode-pumped, solid-state (DPSS) and fiber-coupled. This type of system allows operation in a demanding industrial environment (vibration, dust, shock) without easily degrading.

  • Delicate and heat-sensitive materials, such as medical plastics, glass, and ceramics.
  • Precious and highly reflective metals, such as gold and copper

  • “Cold” marking: It produces relatively little thermal load on the material, which reduces warping, burning, heat-affected zones, or unwanted changes on the surface.
  • High-resolution micro-marking: With a high-quality beam, it allows detailed marking of information.
  • Surface color-change capability: On some materials, instead of removing or burning the material, the green laser can induce color changes on the surface to create legible marks without deep penetration.
